White House Begins Review of Revised Boiler MACT
June 1, 2012The EPA has completed its work on a final reconsideration of emission standards for hazardous air pollutants from industrial, commercial, and institutional boilers, and the rule is now undergoing review at the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) - the final procedural hurdle that remains before the rule can be promulgated.
When the Boiler MACT rule is finalized, the rule will supersede the previous Boiler MACT rule promulgated in February 2011. The EPA has not enforced the 2011 rule while the reconsideration of the Boiler MACT rule is pending.
Additional information and resources related to the Boiler MACT rule is available on the GLLF Boiler MACT webpage.
